Southern Pickled Peaches
This recipe was sent in by Mrs. Geraldine Brothers, I thank her very much. She feels this is a very inexpensive, easy to prepare and appealing recipe.
Ingredients
For 2 Serving(s)
- 3 lbs Peaches
- 4 cups Sugar
- 1 pint Vinegar
- 2 each Cinnamon stick
- 1/2 Ginger
Southern Pickled Peaches Directions
- Blanch peaches in boiling water for 1 (one) minute.
- Plunge in cold water to stop cooking, cool down and peel
- Make syrup by boiling 2 cups of sugar, the water and the spices (bag)
- Add the peaches and boil for 3 minutes.
- Add all remainders and cook until tender.
- Cover and lets stand for a day.
- Serve garnished with mint leaves. This same recipe can proceed to preserves.
